Frequently Asked Questions
Do you do manual lessons?
At DriveAutomatic we only offer Automatic driving lessons.
How many lessons will I need?
Everyone learns at different rates; your journey is unique to you. Once you have a few lessons, we’ll have a better idea of where you’re at.
How much are lessons?
This can vary depending on what kind of lesson and for how long. Our 2-hour standard lesson is £76.
What happens if I need to cancel a lesson?
No problem, just let us know so we can help reschedule your lesson for you. Cancel within 48 hours of your lesson and you won’t be charged.
What if I get Covid or someone close to me does?
We work in line with government guidelines.
Can I book an intensive course?
We don’t currently offer intensive courses as we don’t have the availability to accommodate this. Also, note that driving test slots are hard to come by and have to be booked in advance, so an intensive course may not be the best option for you.
I suffer from anxiety. Can I still be taught to drive?
It is normal to be anxious when starting something new; we have had the pleasure of being part of previous students’ driving journeys in the past who have struggled with anxiety. Drop us a message to discuss your requirements. We’re happy to help.
Do you offer refresher lessons?
Yes, we will help wherever we can. Give us a call to discuss your concerns.
Do I pay in advance, or will you invoice me?
Payment is required no later than 48 hours before your lesson. Payments can be made via bank transfer, card, or cash.
How long is your waiting list?
We don’t operate with a waiting list; if we have space, we take in new students. This is normally done as each student passes.
Will I always have the same instructor?
Yes, your instructor will get to know you and will be personally invested in your driving journey.
Do you offer flexibility as I have children and I work?
Of course, we will be as flexible as possible to make sure we can find you suitable dates and times.
Should I book my theory before I start my lessons?
We advise you to have a good understanding of the theory and to book your theory test as soon as you can. Learning to drive while studying for your theory test could also be helpful, as you can see how the theory fits in with practical driving.
How can I book with you?
The first step is to get in touch so we can discuss your requirements and answer any questions you may have. We need some information, then we can get you on our books and book you in for your first lesson.
I want to learn to drive, but I don't know where to start.
Apply for your provisional licence, start your practical lessons, take your theory test, and then your practical test 🙂
I can already drive. Can I take my test in your car?
To be able to take a test in our DA car, you would need to do a set amount of lessons with us. This is because it is our duty to only submit peoople who are test-ready.
Can I use my international license?
We would advise you to get your UK provisional licence as your international licence is only valid for a year from entry to the UK.
